Single Vehicle Rollover Causes Death of Woman

Early on Thursday morning, July 2, a single vehicle rollover caused the death of a woman.

According to Las Vegas police, the accident happened shortly after 7 a.m. near the intersection of Smoke Ranch Road and Decatur Boulevard. A 20 year old woman was driving a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer and travelling at speed when she lost control. The vehicle left the roadway and hit a wall. It then flipped over onto the driver’s side, and the driver was ejected.

Both the driver, who was seriously injured and her 21 year old passenger, who suffered moderate injuries, were taken to University Medical Center, where the driver died.

The Clark County coroner’s office later released the driver’s identity as 20 year old Sophia Faraci from Las Vegas.

The accident is still under investigation and was the 51st traffic related fatality in Metro’s jurisdiction this year.
