Motorcycle Accident involving Delivery Service Costs Millions

Jimmy John has reached a multimillion dollar settlement in Las Vegas with a motorcyclist who collided with a Jimmy John’s delivery vehicle.

In October 2011, Ty Cirillo, aged 19 at the time, was headed east on Oakey Boulevard on his way to work on his Harley-Davidson Sportster, when a Jimmy John’s delivery driver in a Chevy Blazer turned left onto Ivanhoe Way and cut him off. Cirillo suffered multiple horrific injuries after slammed into the right rear side of the SUV. His pelvis was cut wide open and he had multiple broken limbs. He has since had two hip replacements and is in a wheelchair, unlikely to ever walk or work again

The delivery driver said that the quicker the service, the bigger his tips were, and he also received a percentage of the sales for each delivery, so the more deliveries he made the more money he earned.

The actual amount of the settlement has not been revealed, although $50 million was requested. It is thought to be several millions.
