A Woman was Killed in a Five Vehicle Crash

On Monday morning, August 10, a woman was killed and one injured in a five vehicle crash near McCarran International Airport.

According to Metro Police the crash happened around 8 a.m. near Sunset and Paradise roads and caused the area to be closed to traffic for most of the day. It appears that 39 year old Angela Bashay, driving a 2011 Honda Pilot was going east on Sunset. As she approached Paradise she crashed into the back of a 2003 Nissan Altima as it was stopping at the intersection. The Altima was pushed forward into a traffic signal pole.

Bashay’s vehicle overturned and skidded into a 2007 Honda Civic that was stopped in the left turn lane to Paradise. The Civic was then pushed into two other vehicles which were stationary at the intersection; a 2015 Toyota Highlander and a 2011 Toyota Camry.

The women driving the Altima and Civic were taken to Sunrise Hospital, where the Altima driver died. Their names have not been released. The driver of the Civic suffered minor injuries.

It is thought that once the investigation has been concluded that criminal charges will be brought.
